I’d rather dance than sit in front of my computer so I’ll keep it short and sweet.
Contestant registration for the Topanga Banjo/Fiddle Contest and Folk Festival is officially over, but a little bird told me if you go ahead and send it in ASAP, it will still be accepted! A ticket to the festival costs $23…..but it only costs $20 to register for the contest. Your registration for the contest includes your entry fee. One $20 fee covers as many contests as you care to enter at the festival that day. Granted, I’ve never been a math whiz, but it seems to me there’s pretty good chances of coming out ahead if you enter the contest. You save at least $3 for sure. Not to mention all the free stuff you get for just showing up.
Save the date: Wednesday, May 16th: A Flatfoot Dance Workshop with
Ira Bernstein featuring dance steps from the classic documentary
“Talking Feet“.
Location: The American Legion
I’m simply thrilled that Mr. Bernstein will be joining us again this year as a judge and teacher at the TBFC. He will also be teaching a Wednesday night workshop before the festival. Time and location TBA. Please stay tuned for details on your chance to meet and learn from a living dance legend.
That’s it. As always, feel free to contact me for lessons, thrift shop runs, music and dance jams, a shoulder to cry on or some good advice. Well…maybe not always good, but free at least. 🙂
Your dancing pal,
Ms. Becky
